Sign upYes - Play Locals is completely free to sign up and use. Create your profile, browse local players, and send play requests at no cost.
'Beginner' - players getting started with tennis and may be looking to pick up a racket for the first time or have started to play in the past few months.
'Intermediate' - players who can rally and serve, enjoy the game but have had no or only a small amount of competitive experience.
'Advanced' - players who compete regularly, have strong technique and can win points with their attacking strengths but also effectively defend against their opponents.
Remember this is just a guide and you can always adjust your level in your profile to get a better fit for your game!
When you find a player you'd like to play with, you can send them a play request with an optional message and your available times. They'll get a notification and can accept or decline. If they accept, you'll both receive each other's mobile number so you can sort out the details directly.
Your mobile number is only ever shared when both players agree to play - it's exchanged at the point of acceptance so you can arrange your session. Players who decline your request, or whose requests you decline, will never see your number.
We wanted Play Locals to be focussed on meeting people locally to play with and then you can decide whether it's just a casual friendly session or a competitive match. We didn't want 'competition' to be the focus and so we don't produce tables or scores against your profile - so you can just go out and enjoy some matches without it being recorded officially on our platform.
